National Black Home Educators, NBHE, announces its co-operation with the National Home Education Research Institute (NHERI) in a ground-breaking study on African American homeschoolers. While government consultants continue to wring their hands and ask for ever increasing amounts of money as a solution to the massive under-achievement of African American children in schools, let's see if homeschoolers have already found the solution to the problem.
Smaller, individualized groups with frequent one-on-one interactions with teachers seem to be effective for homeschoolers in general. It makes sense that these same strengths of homeschooling would help achievement for African American children as well.
