The Mission-Minded Child: A Review

We loved this book!  From the personal autobiography the author gives about her own childhood to the mini-biographies of missionaries, this book was a pleasure to read and full of great information to help parents raise children that are not self-absorbed but rather have a heart for others to hear the Good News about Jesus Christ.

One very nice feature about this book are the mini-skits or monologues to portray various missionaries.  My children love skits and acting so this is a fun activity for them and helps them to learn more about missionaries from history in an interesting, memorable way.

The author also includes inspiring examples of the acts of kindness, generosity and prayer that children are capable of when just given the chance and the outlet.

Finally, the book finishes with a listing of resources to begin building your own mission-minded family.  This book is a wonderful companion to Ann's other book, The Mission-Minded Family: Releasing Your Family to God's Destiny, which we read first as a devotional that my husband read with our family.

Ann also offers a free homeschool curriculum,Teaching with God's Heart for the World, that we have as well.

I encourage you to check out this family's offerings to help you and your family have heart for changing the world.

Ann and her family are actively involved in orphan ministries and more as well as the ministry of encouraging families.  I encourage you to visit their website to find out more about how you can support them through prayer or financially.
